Gontareva will leave, having said “Goodbye”

After three years of work as head of the National Bank, Valery Gontareva wrote a resignation letter. The main financier of Ukraine is ready to vacate the seat before May 10 (the statutory period), if the parliament will meet it. Now her departure must be coordinated with the president and the Verkhovna Rada.

Gontareva is sure that the policy of the central bank will not change: there will remain a volatile lateral trend. In brief, there will be an updated modern National Bank. She came to work in the National Bank of Ukraine to reform the country’s financial system, but did not fully implement all that was planned.

However, as a result, it was possible to ensure financial stability; the country switched to a flexible exchange rate and started a new monetary policy.

Valeria Gontareva is confident that she has fully accomplished her task, and now she wants to rest.

The President was offered several candidates who are able to head the National Bank.
