Klitschko awarded the author of the anthem of Kiev

On the 55th anniversary of the Kiev anthem, “How can I not to love you, my Kyiv!,” the award “Honorary Citizen of Kiev” has found its hero, or rather, his daughter. Vitali Klitschko presented the highest award of the capital to Tamara Igorevna Shamo, the daughter of the famous Ukrainian composer, the author of the music of the official anthem of Kiev Igor Shamo.

Let us remind, that the song “”How can I not to love you, my Kyiv!” has been an unofficial anthem of the capital of Ukraine for a long time and only in 2013 the session of deputies of the Kyiv city council approved it as an official anthem of Kiev.
