Book Festival in the Arsenal

The seventh literary festival “Book Arsenal”, which traditionally takes place within the walls of the Kiev “Mystetsky Arsenal”, will finish its work this week. The interest to the fair is huge, only on the first day a few hundred people visited it. More than 150 publishers presented their books, almost a thousand of them were premieres.

This year the publication of the first complete edition of the “Aeneid” by Kotlyarevsky – the founder of Ukrainian literature celebrate the anniversary . Therefore, the organizers decided to pay special attention to its rethinking: is it possible to laugh at many phenomena in the belligerent country?

More than fifty writers from around the world have already participated in the event. This year, “Book Arsenal” first invited colleagues – the Birmingham Literary Festival.

On Friday, a unique musical performance, dedicated to the famous and peculiar British singer Amy Winehouse, will be presented. She died quite young, and our musicians dedicated the performance to her talent. On the last day of work, on Sunday, Anastasia Melnichenko will present her book, flashmob of which is # iAmNotAfraidToSpeak, made a lot of noise in social networks.

And in the end the full “Anthology of Ukrainian poetry of the 20th century” will be presented.
