Pentagon will allocate $ 150 million to Ukraine for defense

The House of Representatives of the United States Congress supported financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $ 150 million.

“The provision of funds to Kiev is laid down in the law on appropriations for military needs in the new financial year – until October 1, 2017, which was adopted by a majority votes of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, March 8. The document was supported by 371 deputies of the lower house of the US Congress, 48 ​​parliamentarians were “against”, the report says.

The document also indicates that these funds will be available to the Pentagon in order to provide Ukraine with military support, including, in particular, the provision of lethal weapons and equipment, logistics support, intelligence support for the Ukrainian army and national security forces, training of Ukrainian armed forces personnel and other.

In total, the defense budget of the Pentagon in fiscal year 2017 will be $ 578 billion.

Now the document has yet to been approved by the US Senate, but the administration of President Donald Trump announced plans to increase the budget of the Ministry of Defense for the current year by $ 30 billion.
