Russian missiles for Turkey

   On March 10, bilateral negotiations of the Russian-Turkish format between Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan took place in Moscow. During these negotiations, the question about the possibility of supplying S-400 air defense systems to Turkey had been discussed.

   The leaders of two countries expressed interest in the implementation of the contract. The information was confirmed by Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s press secretary. Russian Minister  of Defense Sergei Shoigu also mentioned  that this topic had been discussed during the meeting.

   According to D. Peskov, Turkish side expressed interest in buying the S-400 and is still asking for a possible contract. Russian side also does not object to cooperation in this area.

  “The parties are interested and will continue the conversation,” the presidential press secretary said.

   The Russian Defense Ministry S. Shoigu confirmed that the sale of the S-400 air defense system to the Turkish side was “discussed” during the meeting in the Kremlin.

    Currently Ankara is trying to find out in which bundle the Russian S-400 can be delivered to Turkey. If the agreement has been achieved, as a result, the design departments will deal with the relevant departments of  two countries.
