The Ministry of Economic Development has summed up the results of exports for 2016

The Ministry of Economic Development published the results of Ukraine’s exports for 2016. According to the results, in 2016 exports of goods amounted to $ 36.4 billion, thus, it decreased by 4.6% compared to 2015 (by $ 1.8 billion).

Nevertheless, in comparison with the beginning of 2016 there was a significant slowdown in the rate of decline in exports. In January 2016 this ratio was 31.9% (in comparison with January 2015).

Negative trends are due to the unstable political and financial situation in the regions of Lugansk and Donetsk. Continuation of military aggression on the part of Russia and limited access to credit resources contributed to the problems in the system of development of foreign economic activity, which were supplemented by the introduction by the Russian Federation of a ban on Ukrainian food products and restrictions on transit through the territory of Ukraine.

In the same period, the ratio of exports of agricultural products to the food industry increased sharply by $ 721.2 million (5%) and light industry by $ 63.4 million (7%), as well as textile garments by $ 24.2 million (7.3%). .

The situation in the metallurgical sector had a bad effect on the economic balance. The decrease in exports of goods in the metallurgical complex (by $ 1,200,000,000, or by 12,0%), the chemical industry (by $ 577,100,000, or by 22,7%) is being monitored; Machine building (by $ 439.3 million or 9.2%).

In the structure of exports of goods for 2016, the largest part was collected by products of the agro-industrial complex and food industry (42%), metallurgy products (22.9%) and special machinery (11.9%).

In 2016, 30% of exports went to the EU countries, and almost 15% – to Russia.
