The monument to Engels has been standing on a rural square in Marjanovka, Poltava region for a decade. Since decommunization did not pass by the village, a four-meter monument was dismantled. British got interested in the sculpture – it was found by the director and playwright Phil Collins for a festival dedicated to a faithful Marxist who has been living and working in the city for many years. The organizers want to bring a rural monument to Britain and install it in the city center.
The sculpture cut in half will be transported through Europe and forwarded to Foggy Albion. All travel will be recorded on video, as a result there will be a film. A truck with a valuable cargo is about to leave Kharkov, and in June, in a solemn atmosphere, the monument will be opened for public viewing.
Village council Maryanovka agreed with the British, they decided to transfer the monument.
