The new ruble zone?

From February 21, 2017 the self-proclaimed LNR Council of Ministers decided on the establishment of the official monetary unit.

Thus, the population of the occupied territory  wants to introduce the Russian ruble as the official monetary unit.

As it has been told in the regulation, the decision had been  taken in order to take measures to stabilize the financial and monetary system, as well as due to the conduction of financial transactions in the LNR is fulfilled  mainly in Russian rubles.

It is expected that this decision would enter into force from March 1 this year.
