Chile. Fortunately, no Tsunami

A powerful earthquake has happened near the coast of Chile – this was reported by the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean, forty kilometers from the coast, near the city of Valparaiso, and the capital, Santiago, is located in 97 km.

By intensity, experts estimated the earthquake in the epicenter as devastating. Tsunami was expected after such a powerful cataclysm  – areas located within a radius of thousands of kilometers from the epicenter appeared in the risk zone. Rescue services of the country were raised on alarm. Fortunately, Tsunami did not happen.

Subterranean tremors were felt along the coast of the country. So far, there is no information about the destruction and injuries. It is also unknown whether new earth tremors are possible.
