Ukraine ranks 84 out of 188 existing according to the Human Development Index for 2016.
This information was provided by the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine Neil Walker.
The UN System Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs also provided a Human Development Report for 2016.
“The value of the Human Development Index of Ukraine was 0.743 points. This indicator belongs to a high category of human development and puts the country on the 84th position out of 188 countries and territories, “the study states.
According to the research, Ukraine is located on the same level as Armenia, which is below the average for the EU and Central Asian countries.
It should be noted that more than 60% of Ukrainian citizens today are below the poverty line. Neil Walker also noted this fact during his speech at the presentation of the UN report on human development.
