Export is growing, sugar is rising in price

For the first time in its history, the export of Ukrainian sugar for the past eight months has reached unprecedented levels – about seven hundred thousand tons. In April, manufacturers sent more than seventy thousand tons to Sri Lanka, Georgia, Cote d’Ivoire and Libya. These figures show that domestic producers have reoriented in time and entered new, world commodity markets.

Next year it is planned to increase the acreage of sugar beet and. Respectively, the production of sugar, which will increase export supplies exceeding one million tons. However, there is also a flip side of the coin. In the summer in the domestic market, sugar prices will creep up. The fact is that stocks for the transition period will remain a little and the new marketing year the country will start with higher sugar prices.
