Will the special confiscation strengthen hryvnia?

Ukrainian treasury has replenished almost 260 billion hryvnia for the last four months, that is, the planned income is overfulfilled by almost 19 percent. Compared with last year’s figures for the same period, revenues increased by 50 percent.

Such a favorable situation has developed after a special confiscation of more than a billion dollars. According to some sources, funds were confiscated from people from ex-President Yanukovych environment.

In addition, ten billion hryvnia have replenished the treasury of the National Bank. Thus, it was only in April that the budget received forty percent more than it was planned. And in monetary terms, the amount is considerable – more than 85 billion hryvnia.

According to President Petro Poroshenko, the funds confiscated by the court will help to stabilize the national currency.
